Egg Nog Supreme

Print Friendly and PDF

Note: 'Supreme' means boozy! Egg nog is one of my favourite things about Christmas. I first made this Egg Nog Supreme recipe last Christmas, and what wasn't slurped up on Christmas Eve by my family was quickly spooned into our Christmas morning coffee. This year I made it as a punch to serve at our New Years Eve party, and crossed my fingers in hopes that everyone wasn't completely sick of egg nog already. Turns out that if you put booze into anything, our friends will drink it (and that's one of the things we love about them most)! Here is the's definitely a must try!! Enjoy!

Egg Nog Supreme

12 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1 cup brandy
1 1/3 cups rye or dark rum
2 cups half & half cream (10% butterfat)
12 egg whites
3 cups whipping cream (33% butterfat)
nutmeg for garnish

In a large bowl, beat egg yolks and sugar together until lemon-coloured and thick. Add brandy, rye or rum, and the half & half cream. Blend well. Chill for several hours.

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Beat whipping cream in large bowl and fold in egg whites. Fold into egg yolk mixture. Pour into a large punch bowl.

With a little help from my friends, Erin and Cleary
Sprinkle with grated nutmeg  Enjoy!

Serves: A crowd

Slightly heavy hand with the nutmeg...
I think the culprit is sitting on the counter behind the punch bowl.
Megan's Review: Super rich and decadent.
The Hubby's Review: Mmmmm.  Glug glug glug.
